Air Pressure

In Room 8 we are learning about the mechanics of flight. In Aidan's experiment the air pressure in the balloon is forcing the book up, lifting it into the air. In Saskia's experiment when a straw blows air between 2 ping pong balls you would think that they would be pushed outwards, but no they actually move in and hit each other. This is because when we blow the air in between the ping pong balls the air is moving faster and the air pressure becomes lower than the air pressure that is on the outside of the balls. This higher outside pressure forces the balls inwards. Here are our experiments above.
